The eight Philhealth officials tagged as the alleged “mafia’ in the agency and reported to have refused to leave their posts and dodged reassignments have been issued new assignments effective immediately, official documents bared.
A memorandum dated Oct. 5, 2020 and signed by Philhealth president Dante Gierran twenty -six Regional Vice-presidents including the so-called Mindanao group were asked to vacate their current posts and reassigned to other Philhealth branches.
“The reassignment and designation of the officers are done consistent with the issued corporate policies.They shall be entitled to receive all benefits and allowances attached to the performance of their designation, whenever applicable subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.’’
Gierran also said that the concerned Philhealth officers were informed of the impending reassignment and proper turnover of tasks is expected.
Paolo Johan Perez, RVP of PhilHealth Regional Office 4B (Central Luzon) is now assigned at Regional Office Region 1X in Zamboanga City ; Khaliquzzaman Macabato, RVP of PhilHealth Regional Office ARMM is now assigned in Region V111 (Leyte) Valerie Anne Hollero, Assistant Corporate Secretary is now the Regional Office head of Caraga Administrative Region; Dennis Adre, RVP of PhilHealth Regional Office XII is now the head of Regional Office in Region 1 – Ilocos Region; Masiding Alonto Jr., RVP of PhilHealth Regional Office Region X has been assigned to Central Luzon.
Jelbert Galicto, RVP of PhilHealth Regional Office CARAGA; and William Chavez, RVP of PhilHealth Regional Office Region VII and Miriam Grace Pamonag, who were also tagged by Senator Richard Gordon as part of the Philhealth mafia were not given new assignments.
Gordon recommended the prosecution of the eight Philhealth officials to the Office of the Ombudsman, but PhilHealth board member Alejandro Cabading, in the Senate hearing on Philhealth anomalies last month, defended the eight officials as the “good guys.”
