Missing Secretary Sal Panelo’s daily briefing and “sartorial elegance” in Malacañang?
Well, the President’s chief legal counsel has mounted his own tv program to fire off attacks against Duterte’s bashers. The latest communication strategy of Panelo came after being unseated by the loquacious Harry Roque as the President’s mouthpiece.
In the first episode of “Counterpoint,” Panelo came out swinging against PDI columnist John Nery over his scathing commentary about Duterte’s public speeches late in the day during the coronavirus emergency.
“Ang presidente alam nating lahat mula’t sapol pa ito nung naging alkade ng Davao City ang kanya pong time clock ay kakaiba kesa sa atin… Ang president nagtatrabaho sa gabi hanggang umaabot ng alas-6, alas-7 [ng umaga] at saka lang po siya natutulog,” the President’s lawyer said.
Besides, Filipinos can watch the President’s speech early next day if they are not able to catch it live that night, said Panelo who was in his usual fashionista suit.
Panelo lost the precious Presidential spokesman title to Roque last month. Ironically, it was Panelo who replaced Roque when he pursued his political ambition in 2018.
