Ayaw sa NAIA! Duterte to board last flight as President at Sangley Airport
President Rodrigo Duterte will board a plane at Sangley Airport in Cavite to go back to his home in Davao City on his last day in office on June 30, 2022.
Duterte shared what he plans to do on the last day of his presidency during the inauguration of Sangley Airport at Sangley Point, Cavite Saturday (February 15).
“I’m just two years away and I will go home and pack ip and use the flight or my last flight as long as it will not go down there in the sea. I will take my last flight as President to Davao. I will use this airport,” he said.
The Sangley Airport was built during the Duterte administration as part of its ambitious “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure program. It is seen as an alternative to the highly congested Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila.
The airport can accommodate turbo-prop aircraft for initial commercial cargo operations.
