Lawyer Larry Gadon is planning to file an impeachment case against Vice President Leni Robredo if she will be indicted for sedition or inciting to sedition over the “Ang Totoong Narco List” video series.
Gadon, the lawyer of supposed whistleblower Peter Joemel Advincula alias Bikoy, told ANC Thursday (July 25) that the Office of the Solicitor General has nothing to do with his plan to impeach Robredo.
“That is one of the direction we may take. If Mrs. Robredo is indicted then that would be the next step – the impeachment proceedings against her. That’s the plan, but that’s my plan only,” he clarified.
Gadon helped Advincula in filing the affidavit which the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group used as basis in filing sedition and other criminal charges against Robredo and a number of opposition figures.
Advincula claimed to be the hooded figure “Bikoy” in the “Ang Totoong Narco List” video series, which accused President Rodrigo Duterte’s family of involvement in the illegal drug trade.
The former convict claimed he was paid to appear in the videos by opposition figures as part of a plan to destabilize the government.
Gadon said Advincula has a lot of evidence to prove that he met with opposition figures to discuss the production of the video.
Sometime in February 2019 he was asked to meet somebody who turned out to be the chief security of former Sen. (Antonio) Trillanes. After that they talked about destabilizing the government and putting some doubts on the characters of the family for President Duterte and they came up with a series of videos,” the lawyer claimed.
Gadon, who filed the impeachment complaint against former Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno that eventually led to her removal, denied he was going after Robredo on Malacañang’s orders.
“Sinasabi nila pakawala ako ng Malacañang and I just want to be appointed. It turned out hindi ako nagpa-appoint, hindi ako nag-apply and I was not even endorsed by Duterte in my run for the Senate,” he said.
