This may be one of the immediate effects of the proposed federal constitution should it be adopted, Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Saturday.
In an interview on DWIZ radio, Lacson said the proposed federal constitution allows each federal state to impose its own taxes.
“Double taxation yan eh. Alam mo dadaing ang kababayan natin diyan, may federal tax at state tax. Mabigat yan ha. Di biro-biro yan. Kaya dapat tingnan mabuti ano ang nilalaman ano ang detalye ng federal taxation and state taxation,” he said.
Lacson also questioned the proposed federal constitution’s allowing of two senators from each federal region.
“Ganoon kalaki na ba ang Pilipinas para magkaroon ng estado kung saan elected by state ang mga senador?” he said.
