DAVAO CITY – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has warned IT service provider Smartmatic against potential tampering of elections results in this year’s midterm polls.
Mayor Duterte issued the warning after casting her vote insde Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School in Matina, Davao City on Monday.
“Huwag na nila pakialamanan yung results ng botohan,” she said.
The Presidential daughter stressed that both Smartmatic as well as the Commission on Elections should “be faithful” to the real choices of the people.
“That’s why it is an election, that’s why it is a democracy. People are allowed to choose kung sa kanila yung gusto nilang botohan that’s why we remind also the COMELEC and Smartmatic to be faithful sa mga choices ng mga tao,” said Mayor Duterte.
The Davao City Mayor last March claimed that that his father, President Rodrigo Duterte was robbed by close to three million votes during the 2016 Presidential Elections.
According to the presidential daughter, his father should have won between 17 to 19 million votes.
She said it was confusing that the total number of votes cast for senatorial candidates in 2016 polls have wide differences compared to those in the presidential and vice-presidential elections.
She raised doubts that some candidates could have benefited from the alleged poll irregularities back then.
