Balimbing for all seasons! Netizen digs up proof of Salceda evolution as political butterfly
The name of Albay Rep. Joey Salceda has become associated with political turncoatism.
Through the years, Salceda made sure to ally himself with the administration in power— as well as their potential successors— to ensure political survival.
Netizen @Stewart_O showed why Salceda is known as “pambansang paruparo” in some circles by digging up proof of his fickle loyalty.
Twitter user @Stewart_O used the template of the trending tweet, “i don’t know who needs to hear this, but no one has this range” for Salceda’s photos spanning three administrations.
The tweet was accompanied by photos of Salceda with former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, former President Benigno Aquino III, Senator Grace Poe and President Rodrigo Duterte.
Salceda briefly served as Arroyo’s chief of staff before running for Albay governor. In 2010, he bolted Arroyo’s party, Lakas-Kampi, to join Aquino’s Liberal Party.
In the 2016 elections, Salceda left LP to support Poe’s presidential bid. He‘s now a stalwart of Duterte’s party, PDP-Laban.
Meanwhile, Twitter user Mackie Zamora said Salceda desperately needs funding, with multiple partners on his belt which he refused to name.
He added that having “face like that” of Salceda, “he needs money to make people love him.”
