The government will allocate a total of P70.6 billion for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region under the P4.1-trillion 2020 national budget.
Based on the proposed National Expenditure Program (NEP) for next year which submitted by Malacañang to Congress, P63.6 billion will be allotted by the national government as an annual block grant for the newly-created Bangsamoro region.
Under the Bangsamoro Organic Law, the regional government will be given a five-percent annual block grant from the national government, which will be automatically appropriated in the national budget.
The Block Grant is the share of the Bangsamoro government from the national internal revenue collections, based on the prior third fiscal year immediately preceding the current.
Aside from the block grant, another P5 billion will be allocated as special development fund and another P2 billion for the Bangsamoro region’s share in national taxes.
