Ba’t uutang tayo? Robredo questions why loan from China will fund Kaliwa Dam

Vice President Leni Robredo has questioned the government’s decision to fund the construction of the Kaliwa Dam through a loan from China instead of letting the private sector do it.

Robredo voiced her concern over the P12-billion dam to be constructed by China in her radio show Sunday (March 17).

Robredo noted that there was a proposal to build the Kaliwa Dam in 2014 through a Public-Private Partnership but it was shelved by the Duterte administration.

The Kaliwa Dam is being eyed as a new water source for Metro Manila. It is expected to provide 600 million liters of water daily once construction is finished by 2024.
