Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV has slammed President Rodrigo Duterte for questioning how his critics have helped during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.

Trillanes threatened to whack Duterte’s head in a tweet posted Friday (April 17).

“Four Trillion ang budget mo, tapos hahanapan mo ako ng ambag? Batukan kaya kita,” he said.

Duterte lashed out his critics for doing nothing but talk in a televised address Thursday (April 16).

“Ito lang ang tanong ko…. Ano ang nagawa ninyo para sa bayan? ’Yan lang,” he said.

“Kayo, what have you done for the country except to talk and criticize and talk?” Duterte added.

The President likened his noisy critics to cobras. He said there are now more snakes in Manila than his bailiwick, Mindanao.

“Kita mo nagdadaldal. ’Yan, mga kobra. Walang ginawa kundi maghintay, magkagat, just to be able to open his or her mouth, para sabihin alam lahat,” he said.
