Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito has thrown shade at his half brother, former senator Jinggoy Estrada, by highlighting the importance of integrity in voting.
Ejercito on Saturday (April 13) tweeted his support for good governance advocate Harvey Keh’s stand that thieves should not be voted into public office.
“Kung may isang bagay na dapat pagkasunduan ng bawat Pilipino, DDS man o Dilawan, ito ay ang HINDI pagboto sa mga Magnanakaw sa ating Senado. Agree?” Keh asked.
To this, Ejercito replied: “Public office is a public trust. Integrity should be the first requirement.”
Estrada, who is running for senator like his half brother, is facing a plunder case in connection with the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.
Ejercito has sought to distinguish himself from his estranged half brother by advertising himself as the “good” one between the two of them.
One of his slogans read, “Dito ako sa mabait. Dito ako sa magaling. ”
Public office is a public trust. Integrity should be the first requirement.
