Beauty pero walang brains! MMDA’s Celine Pialago gets bashed on Twitter for saying transport strike ain’t a success

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson and Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago has drawn flak on social media for saying the government will not allow the nationwide transport strike Monday (September 30) to be successful.

In an interview with CNN Philippines, Pialago said: “Nakita niyo naman, bawat local government unit either nagsuspend ng trabaho o klase. Hindi naman natin hahayaan na maging matagumpay ‘yan.”

Several netizens believed Pialago did not think carefully about her statement.

“Actually, the suspension of classes and work are clear indications that the transport strike worked and successful. Wag kang, what was your term again Celine Pialago, ‘nagmamagaling’?” said Twitter user @jason_without_y.

Netizen @_QuePasaChica said: “Celine Pialago might have as well dyed her hair blonde. At least people would have been more lenient and tolerant of her announcement.”

Several netizens found Pialago’s statement callous.
Twitter user @diefreddie said: “AaaaaAA bakit ganyan line of thinking mo? Parang kalaban pa yung mga jeepney drivers. Tsaka paanong hindi tagumpay eh nagsuspend halos buong MM ng work/class? No economic activity. You just got played, celine pialago.”

Netizen @wandeereer said: “ilubog natin si madam celine pialago sa masa ng makita niya ang totoong kalagayan ng ating mga kababayang tsuper!”

“Celine Pialago, a candidate for Miss Philippines Earth 2014 then passed away as MMDA Assistant Secretary,” said Twitter user @mikodeocareza.

Pialago was famous for saying during the Miss Earth Philippines pageant in 2014 that one of her fellow contestants “passed away” when the woman simply fainted.
