Berna Puyat eager to visit Mt. Kanlaon: ‘Pero may physical distancing kami ni manong’
As the tourism industry gradually resumes operations, the country’s tourism chief is heading to one of the country’s most active volcanos.
Tourism Sectary Bernadette Romulo Puyat can’t hardly wait to visit Mt. Kanlaon, located on Negros Island, remembering her memorable horseback tour six years ago.
She posted on Instagram a throwback photo riding a horse while visiting the mountain.
“6 years ago in Mt Kanlaon! Thank you @chin2xuy for sending this picture where we rode a carabao going down the Mountain😊,” she said.
“I hope to visit Negros Occidental soon when both NCR and the province is already under Modified GCQ but may physical distancing nga lang kami ni Manong😝,” she said.
The Department of Tourism has recently readied health and safety guidelines for tourism establishments for their operations under the new normal scenario. Tourism activities may be allowed resume in areas modified general community quarantine but subject to minimum health standards to prevent the coronavirus outbreak.
