Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin believes President Rodrigo Duterte’s “hands on” approach in governance is what kept the chief executive high on the surveys.

“Kung napapansin ninyo kaya sya mataas ang ratings sa survey dahil hands on sya saka pinakita niya ang unusual political na will,” he told reporters on Friday (July 19).

Meanwhile, Bersamin said he will be attending the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the President this Monday (July 22).

“This is the last SONA that I will attend because I will be retiring afterwards,” said Bersamin who will retire on his 70th birthday this October 18.

Apart from him, Bersamin said that other Supreme Court (SC) magistrates will also be going to the SONA.

“I think most of the justice will likely to be there,” he said.

“Karamihan sa amin gusto mag-take part diyan dahil official function yan,” he added.
