Beware of fake tracers! DOH says it has no contact tracing team
The Department of Health (DOH) has cautioned the public not to give personal information to fake contact tracers in the campaign against the coronavirus pandemic.
In an advisory posted on Twitter, the health department said it has not deployed any contact tracing teams.
“The Department of Health advises the public to be vigilant and not entertain calls from individuals introducing themselves as members of the ‘DOH contact tracing team,'” the DOH said.
“DOH does not have a ‘contact tracing team,'” the department added.
The DOH issued three safety protocols if the people encounter fake contact tracers.
The public must “not give out your personal information and end the call,” the health department suggested.
“Take note of the number and block it,” it said.
The public is also advised to report the incident to DOH’s Call Center Hotline through telephone number (632) 8651-7800 local 5003-5004 or email email@example.com.
