Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente reminded Filipinos and former Filipinos who have become citizens of other countries that their foreign spouses and children can’t travel to the Philippines without them.
Morente explained in a statement this is the current policy being implemented by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
If the Filipinos are not travelling with them, he said they should already be in the Philippines before their foreign spouses and children are allowed entry.
“The intent of the IATF resolution was to enable foreigners to reunite with their families in the Philippines,” he said.
“Thus, such intention is not served if the alien comes here when his wife or children are not in the country,” he added.
