Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra assured on Tuesday (Jan. 5) that suspects in the rape and killing of flight attendant Christine Dacera will be placed in the travel alert order of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
“As soon as the police file a complaint with the prosecutor’s office, we may issue a travel alert order to the BI,” he said.
Dacera was found dead in her hotel room in Makati City last Jan. 1 after having last seen alive with a group of men during a New Year’s eve
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it has arrested three suspects but nine others remain at large.
Guevarra said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is prepared to join in the manhunt of the suspects.
“For now we’ll let the PNP handle the case,” he said.
