BIFF: SAF can recover firearms in ‘rematch’
The only way the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) can recover the firearms of the 44 troopers who died in the Mamasapano encounter is through a “rematch,” says the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).
In an interview at radio dzMM, BIFF spokesman Abu Misry Mama said their group was able to seize 10 firearms from the Fallen 44.
“Yung nakuhang 10 armas ay mahirap nang isauli dahil hindi namin hiniram sa kanila. Kunwari sa boxing, knockdown yung kalaban kaya yung mga baril na nakuha namin hindi namin ibibigay hanggang may rematch.,” he said.
The BIFF, a breakaway group of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), joined the MILF rebels in fighting the SAF troopers during a police operation against terrorists Zulkifli bin Hir, alias Marwan, and Basit Usman.
The MILF, for its, part, has earlier turned over to the PNP the 16 firearms they seized from the SAF troops.
