Bigo kay Bigornia! MMDA bosses side with Doris in feud with Celine Pialago
Two top officials of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have practically dropped their spokesperson, Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, like a hot potato by siding with ABS-CBN reporter Doris Bigornia in their feud.
In a letter dated August 8, 2019 addressed to Bigornia, MMDA chairman Danilo Lim and general manager Jojo Garcia distanced said they have a “very good professional working relationship” with the Kapamilya reporter, who is assigned to the MMDA beat.
“Some scathing reporting aside, your persistence and dedication in covering news concerning traffic and flooding made the public more aware of the MMDA’s efforts in serving the greater Metro Manila. We will be very pleased if you will be retained as ABS-CBN’s assigned reporter for the agency,” they said.
Pialago’s feud with Bigornia became public after a copy of the MMDA spokesperson’s complaint letter to ABS-CBN news head Ging Reyes was shared online.
In the letter, Pialago accused Bigornia of having “some beef” with her and trying to humiliate her in public.
“Every time I meet her, she always turns a sour face, as if she wants me to go away. Her tone of voice is always mean and contemptuous,” Pialago said of Bigornia.
Unfortunately for Pialago, her bosses would rather have nothing to do with her feud with the Kapamilya reporter.
Garcia and Lim said Pialago’s complaint letter is personal in nature even though it bore the MMDA’s letterhead.
“It does not reflect or represent the MMDA as an institution despite the said letter being printed on the official letterhead. We did not sanction the same and was done at her personal behest,” they said.
