Bilisan na! Court tells prosecutors to end presentation of evidence in De Lima’s case
The prosecution was told by a Muntinlupa City court to finish by May its presentation of evidence in the drug trial of detained Senator Leila de Lima.
This was confirmed by Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete.
“They are confident that they can present their witnesses within the period given them,” he said.
The deadline was set by Judge Leizel Aquiatan who is handling two of the three drug cases of De Lima.
Recently, the SC appointed Judge Grace Chavez-Ty to handle the other drug case.
The lawmaker is facing charges concerning her alleged involvement in the proliferation of the illegal drugs trade at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.
She Is currently detained at the Custodial Center of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame.
