Binay-Marcos 93 percent done?
Vice President Jejomar Binay said Thursday that he is closer than ever to reaching a “decision” with prospective 2016 running mate Senator Bongbong Marcos even as he insisted that he hasn’t personally talked politics with him yet.
“Let us just not say tandem. But we are very close to having a decision already. Last time I was telling a friend sa media it was 91.5 [percent possibility]. As of last night, it’s 93,” Binay said in a roundtable interview with CNN Philippines.
Such was the opposition standard-bearer’s answer when asked for an update on the heavily-rumored Binay-Marcos tandem.
Binay admitted that while they he has “crossed paths” with Marcos, he has yet to officially meet with the lawmaker to discuss the elections next year.
“I think nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na magkasalubong kami. Pero salubong lang iyon, yong meeting wala pa,” the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) said in the interview.
“Basta umabot na sa kanyang kaalaman na we have agreed to take him in as our candidate for Vice President. That is insofar as we’re concerned.,” he added.
Pressed for a time frame of his wingman’s potential announcement, Binay said: “Tomorrow, or today… or anytime next week, basta’t right away, as soon as possible.” (Randy K. Ortega)
