Senator Bong Go assured the public that his job as a senator will not be affected as he promised to devote most of his time in legislating secondary only in accompanying President Rodrigo R. Duterte as long as it does not present conflict to the senator’s schedules.
“Sasamahan ko si Pangulong Duterte in my own personal capacity kung wala naman pong magiging conflict sa oras, sasamahan ko pa rin si Pangulong Duterte but my priority is my job as a senator, pinili ako ng tao bilang senador my priority is being a senator,” he said Monday (July 22).
Although Go has admitted that there are still lapses in fulfilling the campaign promises of the president, he made sure it will be addressed in the remaining three years of the administration.
As a former long-time aide of the president, Go said he is more than willing to be the link to Malacanang to fast track the passage of priority bills and to avoid them being vetoed which he said is not beneficial.
“I am more than willing kung papaano mapapabilis. Noon 14 to 17 bills were vetoed sayang ang panahon, oras at pera ng gobyerno sa pagdinig ng basas. Sisikapin po namin na bawasan ito,” he said.
