The bible of Philippine politics

BREAKING: Binay ‘too arrogant’, says Mareng Winnie

POPULAR broadcaster and economist Winnie Monsod on Tuesday described Vice President Jejomar Binay as “too arrogant” insofar as politikos go.
“Binay is too arrogant. He says he made Makati. No, Makati made him. It made him rich!” said Monsod who spoke during a leadership forum.
Binay, who aims to fulfill his long-time ambition to become Philippine president in the 2016 elections, served 20 years as Makati City mayor between 1986 and 2010.
“Mareng Winnie” did give props to Binay for being competent, if only for the fact that he’s a University of the Philippines (UP) graduate. Still, Monsod said he’s filled with too much hot air.
“I think Binay is competent, not as competent as he says he is. Of course, he’s from UP. He’s too arrogant!” she stressed.
Monsod earlier unleashed some choice words for the Vice President when he compared himself to revered Singaporean leader Lee Kuan Yew over a month ago.
Asked about her penchant for bashing Binay, the outspoken TV host said: “I have an advocacy against corrupt people in government!
“Napakabobo naman natin if we vote for someone so obviously corrupt and put him in leadership position!” Monsod added.  (Randy K. Ortega)
