Brillantes an exemplary public servant, Jojo Binay says
Former Vice President Jojo Binay has extended his sympathies over the death of former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr.
Brillantes passed away on Tuesday at the age of 80.
“I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the family of Former COMELEC Commissioner Sixto Brillantes,” Binay said in a Facebook post.
Binay remembered the former poll chairman as an exemplary public servant. Brillantes served as Comelec chair from 2011 to 2015.
“He was an exemplary public servant who protected the integrity of our democratic institutions. My family and I are praying for his eternal rest and for comfort and healing for his loved ones,” the former vice president said.
