Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has welcomed the possible investigation that may be launched against him over his supposedly unethical conduct.
“Sige lang. Gawin na nila lahat. Bring it on. Game ako dyan. Handa ako dyan, hindi ako matitinag dyan. I’ve been through a lot in my life kaya hindi ako basta basta natitinag sa mga ganyan,” Trillanes said upon learning from reporters the filing of the case against him last Monday (Feb.27).
Incidentally, Trillanes’ complainant is the same as the one who filed a complaint against Senator Leila De Lima: a certain Atty. Abelardo de Jesus.
The lawyer wanted De Lima investigated over her alleged receipt of drug money as campaign funds and on her “advice” to former driver-bodyguard Ronnie Dayan to snub the House of Representatives’ hearing on their alleged drug links.
Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III, chair of the ethics and privileges committee, said De Jesus has accused Trillanes of unethical conduct when he accused some justices of the Court of Appeals (CA) of supposedly on the take and when he called President Duterte names such as murderer, among many others.
“I only browsed through it. I haven’t really read the entire complaint yet. And I have no intention of distributing the copies yet to the members of the ethics kasi baka magbago ang membership ko eh. Depende pa kung sino ihahalal ng minority na minority leader and the balance of how many minority and majority (will be in the committee),” Sotto said.
