Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag has been to have been infected with the COVID-19 virus on Saturday (Sept. 19).

Because of this, the BuCor has issued a notice advising “all personnel and staff who might have had interaction with him since last week to visit the Directorate for Health Sevices (DHS) for assessment and swab testing.”

“This is also to inform other stakeholders, partners from the media and NGOs who might have been exposed to seek immediate medical advice,” the BuCor added.

The BuCor said the close-in staff of BuCor Director General Gerald Bantag were also earlier tested positive for COVID-19.

“Hence, the DG has also undergone RT-PCR test and awaiting result by Monday,” it said.

The BuCor noted that the test on Chaclag was done Tuesday and “the result just came out today.”

“He has since been quarantined with mild symptoms,” it said.
