Bush asked about Trump’s travel ban. Here’s what he said
Former US President George W. Bush said that he supports an immigration policy that is hospitable.
He made the statement when asked if he supported US President Donald Trump’s travel ban.
“I am for an immigration policy that is welcoming and that upholds the law,” Bush told NBC’s “Today,” according to a The Sydney Morning Herald report published online on February 28.
“One of our great strengths is for people to be able to worship the way they want to or not worship at all,” Bush also said.
Trump earlier drew both support and flak for issuing an order temporarily barring US entry of people from seven predominantly Muslim countries.
Federal judges have suspended the travel ban.
Citing the Associated Press, a The Independent article published online on February 27 said that Trump “is expected to sign a new travel ban on Wednesday.”
