Bye Manila! SC set to transfer to Taguig

The Supreme Court (SC) is set to move to a new home in Taguig City.

Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin on Tuesday (Dec. 18) signed the Deed of Absolute Sale with the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) for the property where the SC will relocate.

During the event, Bersamin personally handed over to the BCDA a check worth P1,044,021,642.86 as full payment for the purchase.

“Today’s signing marks the culmination of the negotiations and signifies the beginning of the new phase of the project that is the construction of the complex,” said Bersamin.

“We are a step closer to finally realizing our common dream to have a place we can call our own,” he added.

The SC purchased a property measuring 21,463 square meters at the Philippine Army Security Escort Group Area in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City where it will be relocated.
