Cardema denies spying for Romero in Romualdez camp: Ninong ko din si Martin!
By JOHN CARLO M. CAHINHINAN
Incoming Duterte Youth Party-list Rep. Ronald Cardema clarified that he has no intention of spying the camp of Leyte Congressman-elect Ferdinand Martin Romualdez as the battle for the speakership heats up.
Cardema made the statement after Politiko reported on Wednesday that some lawmakers who attended the closed-door caucus organized by Romualdez in Quezon City were allegedly uncomfortable with the presence of Cardema during the meeting.
Cardema is known a confidante and wedding godson of Party-list Coalition Foundation, Inc. (PCFI) President Mikee Romero (1Pacman Party-list)—who is openly supporting the speakership bid of Romualdez’s main rival, Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco.
Cardema, who is currently facing multiple disqualification cases in connection with his questionable substitution and qualification as a nominee of the Duterte Youth Party-list, said he has good motive in attending the caucus organized by the Romualdez camp.
He added that just like Romero, Romualdez was also one of his wedding sponsors.
Cardema sent to Politiko some of his wedding pictures with Romualdez.
