Retired Supreme Court (SC) Antonio Carpio on Thursday (Oct. 31) admitted being disappointed in not getting appointed as chief justice.
“Of course I was disappointed,” the former magistrate revealed during a television interview over ANC.
“Anybody would be disappointed if you are not promoted and you applied,” added Carpio who was bypassed five times for the top post.
On the other hand, he pointed out that he cannot do anything about his failure to snatch the chief justice post.
“As a constitutionalist, I know that it’s the prerogative of the President,” he explained.
“You cannot do anything about that,” he lamented.
Carpio retired as SC magistrate on his 70th birthday last October 26 after serving at the high tribunal since his appointment in 2001.
