The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) urged colleges and universities in the country to resume laboratory instruction and internships next year.

In a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte aired over state-run PTV-4 Wednesday, CHED chairman Prospero de Vera proposed that laboratory subjects be taught during second semester.

“In January, i-delay natin hanggang January at uutusan natin ‘yung mga universities na lahat nung subjects na may lab, OJT (on-the-job training), internship et cetera, i-reschedule nila sa second semester,” said de Vera.

“So sa first sem ang ituturo lang lahat nung mga klase na regular na puwedeng lectures. Theoretical doon sa first sem. Imo-move natin sa second semester ‘yung kailangang pupunta.

“So the options will be from the more open limited face-to-face in low-risk MGCQ (modified general community quarantine) areas to the most conservative do it in second semester,” he added.
