“Ang Probinsyano” main star Coco Martin will hold a dialogue with Interior and Local Government Sec. Eduardo Año to iron differences over the top-rating Kapamilya show’s controversial plot.
A reliable source told Politiko that Martin and Año will hold a private meeting inside the Philippine National Police (PNP) National Headquarters in Camp Crame around lunch time of Wednesday to discuss the show’s controversial negative portrayal of the country’s law enforcement agency.
Año earlier revealed to members of media that producers and emissaries of ABS-CBN reached out to him to resolve the complaint being raised by the DILG and the PNP leadership.
A 20-man panel will backed Martin and Año’s close-door meeting to bring up suggestions that will be beneficial for both camps
PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde and Sen. Panfilo Lacson cried foul over the show’s current plot, wherein, the agency is being ruled by corrupt cops.
Some observers and critics warned that the pressure exerted by authorities against the Kapamilya television program was “tantamount to censorship.”
