Despite her increasing popularity following a major tiff with party-list lawmaker wannabe, Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Rowena Guanzon has ruled out running for senator for now.
Guanzon took to Twitter to dispel rumors that she was eyeing an elective post while on a visit in the province.
“Contrary to rumors, I am not running for senator .hehehe Just boosting the morale of @COMELEC troops during voter registration,” she said in her post last Sept. 12, sharing a photo of her visit.
The Comelec official has strongly opposed the nomination of former National Youth Commission chair Ronald Cardema as Duterte Youth party-list Representative since he exceeded the age requirement.
The public feud became intense when Cardema hurled extortion allegations against Guanzon, which the latter has vehemently denied. She has threatened to file libel raps against Cardema.
