Company tagged in overpricing test kits seeks more time to answer allegations
Omnibus Bio-Medical Systems Inc. has asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to be given more time to file its answer to the allegations of selling overpriced medical equipment.
NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin on Saturday (June 6) revealed the lawyer of Omnibus has appeared last week before the NBI’s Anti-Graft Division (NBI-AGD) which is conducting the investigation.
“But they are asking for time to submit their answer because parang na-lock yung kanilang office at tsaka warehouse,” Lavin said.
The NBI spokesman said the Bureau of Customs (BOC) had raided the offices and warehouses of Omnibus last May 28 in San Juan and Malabon cities following President Rodrigo Duterte’s May 25 order for the NBI to investigate the company.
“Yung documents nila in support of their answer nandoon yun sa office nila,” he said.
