Dadaanin na lang sa mabuting usapan: No more ethics complaint for Leila, says Dick
Looks like Senator Richard Gordon isn’t bent on having an ethics complaint filed against his colleague Senator Leila de Lima anymore.
In an interview with reporters Wednesday (October 5), Justice Committee chairman Gordon said that he would just try patch things up with the embattled De Lima by talking to her.
“Kakausapin ko na lang sila because serious yun eh. Pag ethics serious yun eh but you know you really have to watch out.
“As senator, she must remember that she must be of mild temperament and that he must be collected and even I, sometimes na in a moment of…but i don’t think im going to be mean with any senators,” Gordon told Senate media.
The politiko was referring De Lima’s outburst-slash-walkout during Monday night’s Justice panel inquiry on the alleged extrajudicial killings (EJKs) under President Rodrigo Duterte.
He said De Lima’s actions put the Senate in a bad light. He also said that he felt “very, very betrayed” by the lady lawmaker.
Asked if Gordon was not pushing through with the ethics complaint, he answered “Out of respect again to my colleagues, I will just settle.”
“I will talk to her, I will even go see her…Si Kate nga tumawag sa akin sabi sa akin sabi niya…she’s really very very emotional. Kate and I talk about her every night. Naawa kami eh because dumaan kami dyan remember? Dumaan kami dyan,” he said.
De Lima was Senate Justice panel chair in the 17th Congress until she was ousted a few weeks ago by her own colleagues.
