Bureau of Immigration (BI) Jaime Morente has appealed to both the government and private sector to provide personal protective equipment to the Bureau’s frontliners.
“We are one of those at risk in getting this virus and the much-needed supplies are easily depleted,” he said.
Morente lamented that the BI is having difficulties purchasing PPEs including face masks and alcohol due to worldwide shortage.
“Hence we often rely on donations from other government agencies and concerned entities,” he lamented.
Despite this, Morente assured that the BI is doing what it can to protect its frontliners against the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19).
“We have instituted procedures for that, and have a medical team on standby to conduct triage and ensure that those who need testing are able to do so,” he said.
