Stop being the “Presidential Smuggling Group.”
Senator Leila de Lima is dismayed that Presidential Security Group has supposedly become loyal to President Duterte instead of the Constitution.
De Lima however admitted that Duterte probably needed the PSG to wake him up from his slumber.
“Let us not deprive the President of the services of the PSG. Sino pa gigising sa kanya tuwing Lunes?” the senator tweeted.
As the President’s close-in bodyguards are under fire for using unapproved COVID vaccines, De Lima reminded the PSG that its loyalty should be to the Constitution and not to Duterte. “He may be your Commander-in-Chief but he is neither your king nor emperor. The law is supreme, not Duterte’s whims,” she said.
De Lima also asked the PSG to stop being the “Presidential Smuggling Group” after its controversial vaccination without regulatory permits.
“When state agents place their loyalty on a man and turn a blind eye to his corrupt and criminal ways, they become nothing more than lapdogs of a mafioso who tramples on the law just to get what he wants. Wake up, and stop being the Presidential Smuggling Group!” she said.
