Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Tuesday (Feb. 25) shrugged off pronouncements of detained Senator Leila De Lima that she has sent to the United States a list of prosecutors it should ban.
“I am not interested to know who are in her list,” he said.
“I trust that the US State Dept. will exercise its own independent evaluation and exercise prudence and circumspection,” he added.
The senator said she already submitted to the US a list of prosecutors who participated in her prosecution for drug charges as well as her eventual detention.
President Donald Trump last year approved the 2020 US budget which included in its provisions the imposition of travel bans against persons who wrongfully detained her.
