Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Wednesday (Nov. 11) that not all corruption tips will be rewarded with cash after President Rodrigo Duterte offered P100,000 to those who will report anomalies in government.
“Itong reward system na ito will apply only to complaints that actually borne fruit,” he explained during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay with Marichu Villanueva.
“So yun talagang nag-develop and we were already able to verify, we were able to pursue the investigation and eventually file the proper complaints in the Ombudsman,” he added.
Duterte offered the reward money in order to help the Task Force Against Corruption (TFAC) in investigating corruption in government.
On the other hand, Guevarra believes that the President made the not because the TFAC has produced no results yet.
“The President simply made that kind of announcement about the reward system just to really put some spice to this all our campaign against corruption,” the secretary explained.
“He is not impatient. Talagang gusto niya lang maging all out,” he added.
