President Rodrigo Duterte landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Monday morning from Davao City, Malacañang said.
This, amid the suspension of flights because of Taal Volcano’s ash explosion.
“(Duterte) just landed in NAIA as in just landed and the first aircraft to land,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.
He noted that Duterte’s visit to the Philippine Marine Corps in Taguig this afternoon will push through.
“The appropriate agencies are doing what they need to do in times of calamity per direction of the President,” Panelo said.
