‘Di babalik sa kulungan: Trillanes posts bail upon return to PH
Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Tuesday (Feb. 18) posted a P10,000 bail bond before the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC) where he is facing a conspiracy to commit sedition case.
“Finding the cash bond to be in order, the same is hereby approved and accused is allowed provisional liberty under the said bond,” read the order of QC MeTC Branch 138 which was issued after having received the bail.
“Accordingly, the Warrant of Arrest dated 13 February 2020 issued by the Court against Antonio F. Trillanes IV is hereby recalled,” added the order.
The case stemmed from the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” which featured the hooded Bikoy and accused Duterte family members as being involved the narcotics trade.
In the information filed before the QC MeTC, Trillanes and his co-defendants are accused of having wronged President Rodrigo Duterte ”by circulating malicious and scurrilous libels and fabricating evidence against him and his immediate family members, making it appear that the President and his family are engaged in a drug trade syndicate, with no other purpose but to inflict an act of hate or revenge against the President of the Philippines and his immediate family members.”
