Vice President Leni Robredo scoffed at allegations by ABS-CBN critics that she was a favorite of the network, saying she also received unfair treatment from the media giant.
On her radio show, “Biserbisyong Leni” Sunday (July 12), Robredo confirmed ABS-CBN’s admission at the congressional hearings that some of her political ads didn’t air during the 2016 elections’ campaign period.
“Marami akong ads na hindi na-air. Maraming mga pagkakataon—lalo kami na naninilbihan sa taumbayan—maraming pagkakataon na nararamdaman namin na hindi fair, hindi fair sa amin,” she said.
Without naming names, she said “several” people inside the network didn’t treat her fairly.
“Sa ABS-CBN mismo, marami diyang… maraming mga taga-ABS-CBN na hindi naging fair sa akin,” she said.
However, Robredo said now is not the time to settle scores as ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal is an issue of great public interest.
The House legislative franchises committee voted to deny the network’s franchise application on account of its numerous alleged violations, including its supposed political bias.
ABS-CBN is perceived to have given favorable coverage to the Aquino administration.
