Malacañang believes there is no need to expand the enhanced community quarantine to cover Visayas and Mindanao for now.

Declaring lockdown in those regions would depend on the situation, said Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo in a virtual press briefing Tuesday.

Panelo said that several areas in the Visayas and Mindanao have closed their borders to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

“Sa ngayon, makikita natin na yung kahit na yung Visayas ay hindi masyadong naapektuhan sapagkat yung mga gobernador doon, mga mayors, nagkaroon sila ng mga sariling lockdown that early nung wala pang infected naglo0lockdown na sila, kaya walang nakakapasok na meron,” according to him.

“Yung Mindanao at Visayas, depende po sa sitwasyon. Sa ngayon, sa tingin natin ay hindi kailangan,” he added.
