‘Di na nahiya! Marjorie Barretto claims Claudine, Atong Ang picked fight in front of Duterte
Marjorie Barretto claimed her sister Claudine and gambling lord Charlie “Atong” Ang made a scene in front of President Rodrigo Duterte after his attempt at trying to reconcile the Barretto sisters at their father’s wake failed.
In an interview with ABS-CBN news anchor Karen Davila Tuesday (October 22), Marjorie confirmed Duterte tried to patch things up between her and sister Gretchen after the latter arrived at the wake.
Marjorie, however, refused to shake hands with Gretchen, claiming there was “insincerity” on her sister’s face.
It was at that point that Claudine supposedly made a scene.
“Claudine says, ‘You’re unbelievable!’” Marjorie said. “Tumingin ako — bunsong kapatid. Diyan nag-start ‘yung bastusan, actually. And then she followed with, ‘How dare you! You just want the attention!’
“I said, ‘Mr. President, tingnan niyo po ‘to. Ito po ‘yung totoong pagkatao nila. Nagbabait-baitan lang po sila sa harapan ninyo. I hope you understand.’”
Marjorie said Ang tried to grab her after she questioned why he was at her father’s wake. She said she stuck close to Duterte because of the gambling lord’s attempt.
“That’s when the PSG cordoned… Because the President was holding me. Pag safe si Presidente, safe ako,” she said, referring to the Presidential Security Group.
Marjorie said her niece Nicole got involved in the scuffle after Gretchen tried to grab her as well.
“Nakita ko sa kanan ko, Nicole carried Gretchen, nilipat siya, nilayo sa akin. Because, according to Nicole at mga tao doon, she (Gretchen) was also going to follow to make me hablot. Iyon ang kaguluhan nila doon,” Marjorie said.
The PSG advised the President to leave due to the commotion, but Marjorie said he asked to speak with her.
“He safely took me away to the farthest couch, habang si Gretchen ang nag-nervous breakdown. She ran after Nicole, pulled Nicole’s hair, kicked Nicole. She beat up my niece,” Marjorie claimed.
