‘Di nag-fact check! Drilon sorry for fake news on Vince Dizon
Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon offered this apology on Thursday to Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) chairman Vince Dizon.
Drilon apologized to Dizon after he said in an earlier television interview that the designer of the controversial Southeast Asian (SEA) Games giant cauldron, the late architdct Bobby Mañosa, was Dizon’s father-in-law.
“I would like to correct my statement in Headstart this morning about the relationship of the architect who built the SEA Games cauldron, the late Architect Bobby Manosa, and BCDA Pres. Vince Dizon,” Drilon said in a statement.
“They are not related. I was wrong in my information. I apologize to Dizon,” the senator from Iloilo said.
Drilon earlier questioned the P55 million used for the installation of the cauldron to be lit on Nov. 30 at the start of the 30th SEA Games at the New Clark City in Tarlac.
