Senator Panfilo Lacson has turned down the request of the man claiming to be the self-confessed whistleblower Bikoy to testify on the allegations made in “Ang Totoong Narco List” videos after the May 13 elections.

Lacson, who chairs the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs, said Peter Joemel Advincula cannot impose his will on the panel.

“On Bikoy’s decision to testify after elections: He can not dictate on the committee. Truth is never time bound. If he can’t be spontaneous, the only logical conclusion is he has not yet weaved his lies,” he tweeted Tuesday (May 7).

In an interview with the web-only media outfit Rappler, Advincula asked Lacson to reschedule the committee hearing set for Friday for fear of his safety.

He said there is a possibility he will be seized by members of the National Bureau of Investigation or Philippine National Police once he steps inside the Senate premises.

Puwedeng-puwede ako gawan ng scenario case nang Friday. Hindi na ako makakalabas ng Senado: Sabado, Linggo, hanggang Lunes,” Advincula said, referring to the long weekend that will end on election day, May 13.

The self-proclaimed whistleblower said another reason for his refusal to attend the hearing is his pending application with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines for legal aid.

Advincula accused the President Rodrigo Duterte’s son Paolo, his son-in-law Manases Carpio, daughter Kitty and former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go of getting kickbacks from the illegal drug trade in the video series, “Ang Totoong Narco List.”

Lacson earlier said the hearing on Friday will push through as soon as Advincula confirms his attendance and presents a sworn statement.

The senator’s committee has sent a formal invitation for the hearing to Advincula through the IBP, which is the only known link to him so far.
