The last four spots in the senatorial race remains to be anybody’s game as the campaign season enters its homestretch, according to the Pulso ng Pilipino survey conducted by the Issues and Advocacy Center.

Results of the survey showed Senator Grace Poe as the top candidate to beat in the race, while several candidates are vying for the eighth to 12th spots.

Next to Poe, the other senatorial bets with a statistical chance of winning are: Senator Cynthia Villar, former senator Lito Lapid, former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, Senator Sonny Angara, Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, Senator Nancy Binay, former Philippine National Police chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, former Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs Francis Tolentino, former senators Bong Revilla and Jinggoy Estrada, and Senators Bam Aquino and JV Ejercito.

Of the candidates included in the so-called “Magic 12,” only Poe, Villar and Lapid are ranked solo. Go and Angara are tied for the fourth to fifth place, while Cayetano and Binay are on equal footing for the sixth to seventh place.

Dela Rosa, Tolentino, Revilla and Estrada are all tied for eighth to 11th place, while Aquino and Ejercito are tied for 12th to 13th place.

The Issues and Advocacy Center said that while the candidates in the top 10 have strong numbers, “the senatorial race remains fluid and even those in the 14th to 17th positions still have a chance of winning depending on how the election campaign progresses in the last few days of the official campaign period…”

The candidates tied for 14th to 17th place are Ilocos Norte governor Imee Marcos, Senator Koko Pimentel, and former senators Mar Roxas and Serge Osmeña.

The Issues and Advocacy Center’s survey was conducted from April 23 to 27 nationwide with 1,800 voters as respondents. It has a margin of error of plus/minus 2.5 percent.
