‘Di palalampasin! Guevarra vows to go after prosecutors involved in drugs
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has warned state prosecutors in the drugs watch list that their involvement in the narcotics trade is unacceptable.
Because of this, the Secretary vowed he himself will lead the investigation of prosecutors placed in the drug watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
“Once identified and there’s scintilla of evidence, I myself will lead the investigation against them,” he said.
“That is just unacceptable,” he stressed about the involvement of some prosecutors in the narcotics trade.
PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino had earlier revealed there 10 prosecutors and 13 judges in its drugs watch list.
In the meantime, Aquino has withheld the release of the names in the list pending verification and further validation.
Guevarra said “PDEA and DOJ can do parallel investigations if PDEA is willing to share its initial intelligence information with us at this time.”
