Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to also look into the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera.
In a department order released on Friday (Jan. 8), Guevarra told the NBI “to conduct an investigation on the death of Christine F. Dacera, who died on 01 January 2021 in Makati City and, if evidence warrants, to file the appropriate charges against all persons involved and found responsible for any unlawful act in connection therewith.
NBI Director Eric Distor was also directed “to submit reports on the progress of the subject investigation directly to the Office of the Secretary within ten days and periodically thereafter.”
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has already filed rape with rape with homicide complaints against 11 men who were with Dacera at the Makati hotel where she celebrated the coming of the new year.
The Makati City Prosecutor’s Office is set to start the preliminary investigation of the complaint this Jan. 13.
Those named as respondents in the complaint were John Pascual Dela Serna III, Rommel Galidoo, John Paul Halili, Gregorio Angelo Rafael De Guzman, Clark Rapinan, Valentine Rosales, Mark Anthony Rosales, Rey Ingles y Mabini, Louie De Lima, Jammyr Cunanan, and a certain Ed Madrid.
