Dinodoktor kasi! Atienza accuses Cayetano Speakership of manipulating attendance record of solons

Buhay Party-list Rep. Lito Atienza has accused the Cayetano Speakership of manipulating the attendance record of its members during the daily plenary sessions.
“Record-high on roll call. But even in the roll call, I was able to prove the other night, dinodoktor nila,” Atienza said during Thursday’s Party-list News Forum.
Atienza’s statement came following a news release from Deputy Speaker Neptali “Boyet” Gonzales II on Wednesday that the daily average attendance of congressmen reached a record-high 247 lawmakers per day since the 18th Congress started last July 22.
Atienza dismissed such pronouncement from the leadership, saying that “even in the roll call, they are manipulating and doctoring” the attendance to make it appear that most of congressmen were attending the plenary sessions.
Atienza stressed that his own counting of the attendance and the figures being mentioned during the plenary session were actually different.
“Kaya ko sinasabi na dino-doktor, malpractice ‘yan noong 16th Congress, nabura na namin noong 17th Congress,” he said.
Gonzales was the Majority Floor Leader during the 16th Congress.
Atienza added that several proposed legislations under the Cayetano Speakership were deliberated and approved even if there are only a handful of congressmen present in the plenary.
The former Manila mayor said “anything that is handled and tackled by the body is questionable, illegal probably” without the presence of proper quorum.
